Confini Sans
Custom typeface for an independent fanzine
Confini is a self-published fanzine conceived and curated by
photographer Fred Cigno, featuring a collection
of short interdisciplinary narratives. The project explores
marginal spaces, lines of union and separation, and both real and
imaginary landscapes, offering experiments and reflections that
challenge our expressive limits. Collaborating with a group of
creative friends,
I contributed to the project by designing Confini Sans. The typeface draws its inspiration from a recent trek across
the Alps from Italy to France.
The typeface was developed in synergy with the Confini logo, where two blocks of text are linked by a cursive "f", the lowercase signature of the font. The project also features a screen-printed tote bag, showcasing a poem by Giorgio Caproni on one side and an illustration by Chiara Pittano on the other.
